Mud Women is a limited edition print by Los Angles based artist, Fay Ray, that was made in conjunction with her outdoor mural project for Baik Art in 2015. Ray uses the term "Mud Women" to reflect on her passion for clay ceramics and to further articulate the complexities around the female experience. The depiction of muddied hands lifting up a blossoming flower stands as a metaphoric gesture which alludes to greater notions around inner strength, societal injustice, intellectual growth, and personal struggle.
