You're Already Dead, is a limited edition print by Los Angeles based artist, Juan Capistran, that was made in conjunction with his outdoor mural project for Baik Art in 2014. Sourced from the lyric "You're Already Dead" by the British punk band Crass (formed in 1977), Capistran recontextualizes their political ideologies, which often promoted anarchism and resistance, by redacting the phrase to encourage personal political action. A do it yourself (DIY) sentiment that plays to Punk's aesthetic and spiritual legacy while also critiquing the "sleeping masses" inability to wake up and face governments and the multinational systems that seek to oppress them.
